Restaurant Dinners in the US

English version

This spring during our long vacation in the southern part of the United States, we noticed a distinct difference to dining in Germany or France.
Over the years, everywhere in the world, but especially in the US, the prices for fine dining have gone up considerably . What was once a 50 USD dinner for two, now easily exceeds 120 USD and in case of premium steaks and a glass of wine easily reaches 200 USD. In this price range our expectation on the delivery of the meal is comparable to a good dinner in Germany or France.
While the quality of the components of the our meals in the US was always top notch, we did notice a lack of plating skills. We also started to wonder why almost everywhere and even in the top locations, food was exclusively presented on while stoneware plates.
